Future Plans
Upon my departure from high school, I plan to attend California State University of Long Beach for four years. Here, I will study Mechanical Engineering and hopefully obtain a bachelor’s degree. Whilst in college, I plan to take several art and ceramics classes. Three out of four of my high school years were spent waking up every day to SLVHS’s ceramics classroom, and I hope to pursue this hobby in other classrooms. Two-dimensional art, similarly, is a priority for me to continue studying.
While a primary focus of mine is to work towards a greener planet, I plan to major in Mechanical Engineering in college rather than Environmental, because it is a very flexible degree amidst an occupation-based world. For the moment, I am heavily interested in renewable energy or aerospace, but this could fluctuate over the next few years. Mechanical engineering would allow me to choose from a broad range of industries and feel less committed to a fixed career path.
After the completion of college, I hope to join a field that focuses on sustainability and works toward a greener planet. As an engineer, I may also incorporate my experience in entrepreneurship and begin my own business. My ideal job would require a very short commute. Regardless of my primary source of income, I plan on furthering my interest in art and practicing drawing, painting, ceramic pottery, and pursuing reselling clothes with my e-commerce business. While I may attempt to make money off of such projects, I will consider this more of a hobby rather than a career.
My professional life will involve financial stability and independence, permitting me to create my own home. My ideal cozy California cottage will have two or three cats, a hot tub, many plants, a quaint yet charming backyard with a view, and possibly a family. Travelling will be a recurring theme in my future, to places like Bali, Greece, the Bahamas, Paris, New York, etc. Materially, I hope to maintain sufficient financial stability to fund my traveling exploits, maintain my lovely home, and allow me to dine lavishly.
Besides the materialistic objectives of a home, career, and wealth, my truest and deepest dream for the future concentrates on my spiritual growth. I believe the highest achievements are those of psychological progress; I value my emotional state more than my physical. I hope to grow as an individual and open my eyes to the world around me, accepting all the little burdens of life as part of the human experience.
Such spiritual liberations will lead to the intangible facets of my dreams. Happiness, satisfaction, and emotional prosperity are the most important prospects I hope for my life to maintain. Furthermore, my connection to others in relationships and friendships will be an aspect of great value to me, and I aim for my future to be filled with flourishing, unbreakable bonds with others.
